A rainy week in Ankara, May 2026

Note: This is the first in a series of posts about a longer trip to Turkey and the Caucasus that I took in early summer. More entries will follow shortly.

My original plan was to stay in Ankara for three days and then move on to the southeastern part of Turkey, but because the weather was cold and rainy and I wanted to have better conditions for my next stop, I decided to stay for a week. I am very happy with that decision, as it allowed me to visit many of Ankara’s excellent museums. As for the photographs: I think this is one of those cases where it is best to let the pictures speak for themselves.
